Fire protection and artificial intelligence
Hekatron has been a leading expert in the development and manufacture of fire protection systems for more than 60 years. At Hekatron, product development is teamwork. The company is constantly striving for the next better and even safer solution. To this end, the Sulzburg-based company holds an annual trend retreat to drive innovation within the company. In 2020, Hekatron announced the trend retreat as an open project in which the opportunities and risks of using AI in fire safety were to be examined.
Automation solution with AI
As part of this project, BadenCampus and its partner Learning Machines supported Hekatron in the ideas lab and recruited interested developers and data analysts. In interdisciplinary teams and with the involvement of AI experts and young talents from surrounding universities, initial ideas and prototypes were generated for the use of new, AI-related technologies for current problems. From numerous potential use cases, two were ultimately selected and developed in the ideas lab. This allowed the first AI applications to be successfully tested.
